I am a Professor, Deputy Head, and Research Director in the Department of Media and Communication at Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University in China. Previously, I was a Professor and Graduate Program Director at Hallym University in South Korea, and I have also held visiting professorships at City University of Hong Kong and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. My research primarily focuses on advertising, new media, AI, health communication, and diversity in the media. I have published extensively in numerous international journals and books in these areas, and I am ranked among the top 0.5% of advertising scholars worldwide (ScholarGPS.com). In recognition of my exceptional achievements as an educator and researcher, I have been honored with the Best Teacher Award and the Distinguished Professor Award at Hallym University.

In July 2025, I started a new position as Professor, Deputy Head, and Research Director in the Department of Media and Communication at Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University.
I was ranked among the top three scholars in gender in advertising based on a 50-year bibliometric analysis (Adali et al., 2024).
